The Origins of Green People
Green People was founded in 1997 by Charlotte Vøhtz, who was searching for products that could help her 2-year-old daughter Sandra with her eczema. During her search for gentle, natural skincare, she discovered that many so-called natural brands primarily used synthetic ingredients. This lack of true, mild, natural skincare inspired Charlotte to create her own organic creams and salves.
With a promise to never use harsh ingredients or synthetic chemicals such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, alcohol (ethanol), or synthetic fragrances or dyes, and to never test on animals, Green People was born.

Green People’s Features
Green People's products are, of course, cruelty-free and never contain harsh ingredients or synthetic chemicals, including Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), parabens, phthalates, mineral oils, alcohol (ethanol), or synthetic fragrances or dyes.
Certifications
Green People was one of the first companies with cosmetic products certified organic by the Soil Association shortly after the launch of their Cosmetic Standard in 2002, followed by certification from the Organic Food Federation in 2003. Ultimately, we achieved certification with EcoCert in 2009, making Green People the only cosmetics company independently certified by three different certification bodies.
All three certification bodies have very strict rules regarding the nature and type of ingredients that can be used. Full formulation details must be submitted for approval, and annual inspections are conducted to monitor production and packaging activities. Full traceability of each organic ingredient is an essential part of the certification process, allowing raw materials to be traced back to the farmer and the land where the crop was grown.
As of this writing, Green People has 140 products, almost 90% of which are certified by one or more of the aforementioned certification bodies.
